Adult Immunization

Did you know that adults need vaccines too? As children, our parents make sure we are up to date on vaccines, but as adults, we need to take care of ourselves! Adults need different vaccines based on age and health conditions. We encourage you to talk to your doctor or health care provider about which vaccines are right for you.

Some of the vaccines that are important:

  • Yearly influenza (flu) vaccine
  • Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) which replaces the Td vaccine
  • HPV vaccine series if you did not start or finish this as a teenager
  • Shingles for adults 50 years and older
  • Pneumonia vaccine for older adults

Below is the adult immunization schedule and a booklet about adult immunizations that you can download and print. You can also visit  Vaccine Information for Adults on the CDC website to download interactive tools, watch an education video and take a vaccine quiz.
