FLORENCE, Arizona — Pinal County health officials are being recognized for their immunization efforts.
Pinal County Public Health received seven awards this week from The Arizona Partnership for Immunization at the organization’s annual awards dinner.
County officials say Apache Junction, Casa Grande, Coolidge and Mammoth each have a clinic that was given the Daniel T. Cloud Award.
The accolade is given to clinics that maintain a 90 percent immunization rate among 2-year-old children.
The county also got an award for operating an employee flu shot clinic.
Two Pinal County public health workers were recognized with the Hot Shot Award.
Known as TAPI, the nonprofit held its “Big Shots for Arizona” recognition event as part of a statewide immunization conference from the state Department of Health Services.
The organization was established in 1993.
